The summer really feels like its here when you look at this seasons collections. Floral prints in bright colours dominate whether it is a halter neck dress from Missoni or a bikini from Manuel Canovas. Lime green and every shade of orange can be seen in almost all thecollections. De Roemer has used a pale orange for her silk and cashmere knits whilst Amanda Wakeley has used a poppy orange for a super fine crepe dress trimmed with silk satin. Cavalli as usual has produced a vibrant collection mostly in silk jersey including a one shoulder burnt orange long dress. This is a seriously beautiful dress. Dont panic if you are into more subtle colours. Alice Temperley has chosen white, pinks and purples. Her embroidered chiffons are real heirlooms. Valentino Red has produced a very refined collection. A boucle wool coat in white edged black to wear over a classic sleeveless dress. Also in white is a jersey threequarter sleeved jacket to wear over a matching skirt or dress both with a scalloped hem and best of all washable! If you are going to Ascot then there is a dear little checked suit in pastel pink or blue.
Moschino Cheap and Chic are on great form with fifties inspired dresses neat cut off trousers to wear with linen jackets.
If all this is too formal then how about the summer collection of James Jeans. Light weight denim for summer in a dark blue wash or white plus great cropped jeans to wear with pumps.
